What are the primary differences between the Zoom live stream classes and the online courses?

Both the Zoom sessions and online courses provide students with a quality education, but which one is best for you?

Live Stream Zoom Class

The Zoom live stream classes are conducted with a live instructor weekly. The instructor will host a class at a specific date and time following a posted schedule reviewing the course content. Students are to read their chapter material, progress through the workbook, and complete their quizzes before joining the lectures. The live sessions provide an advanced review of the information that is highly important to each chapter. The instructor will be going over two chapters per session. There is one session per week, with a total duration of 14 sessions. Ask questions via chat or raise your virtual hand. The classes can take roughly five months to review all 24 chapters. It takes five months due to major US holidays and scheduled breaks between dense chapters. These breaks allow students time to break down challenging material. At the end of the sessions, students will take a preparation exam, which reviews all the learned material before taking the national exam through HSPA.

Online Courses

The Online Self-Paced Courses are composed of 24 separate units, which match the 24 chapters in the student’s textbook and workbook. To advance, students read the chapter, watch the video, and complete the examination online. The students will repeat this process throughout each chapter. It is a self-paced course, so students do not have to stick with a specific schedule. The Online Course allows students to complete each unit at their desired availability. This allows for faster advancement, or students can progress at a slower pace.

Support

Both options provide students enrolled in standard or premium course-level automatic tutoring sessions and the ability to work with an instructor if they need further assistance with the material. CSS provides clear communication resources to all CSS students with whom to contact at any given time. All courses will have access to our community message board app. Students can create study groups, network, and direct message new and existing students.

The Results

Both options are incredibly beneficial in learning the basics of sterile processing. It depends on the student’s learning style and which class or course best suits their preferences. CSS assists, no matter which version of the course a student enrolls in. But if a student prefers to learn with a group with a live instructor, the live stream Zoom sessions are recommended. If a student wishes to complete the course material at a varying pace independently working through the material, the online courses may be a good fit. If not included in the purchased plan, students can purchase tutoring sessions and additional support resources.

The live stream and online sterile processing courses have a high success rate, in either category. Both are to fit our students’ learning needs with proven results.
